Guide to our e-Newsletters!
Having published a couple of newsletters this year, it never occurred to me (until I was prompted today), that a “newbie” (a person new to computing) may not know how to read and interact with an e-newsletter.
Forgive me, if you do not fall into this category, but if you do, it could perhaps explain a few things!
I’m hoping that it’s not just that the information provided is of little interest! (The kind email that I received from Betty, a Gillespie Clubber, has wiped that thought from my mind!😜)
So How do you Interact with Our Newsletters?
Obviously, you can read them from top to bottom, as you would a newspaper article, but there are a few subtle benefits to an e-newsletter (email newsletter). They are so subtle that I worry that they may have passed you by.
In the image below, which was taken from our most recent newsletter, there are 3 items that I have circled:
-
- If you click your mouse (PC users) OR touch with your finger (tablet/phone users) OR click with your touchpad (the laptop mouse) on the TapIT logo, you will be taken to the home page of our website (https://tapintoit.org.uk/)
- Clicking your mouse (PC users) OR touching with your finger (tablet/phone users) OR clicking with your touchpad (the laptop mouse) on the orange text, which says “email”, will result in a ready formed email, addressed to Mike Ellis popping up before your very eyes – something like this:
- If you click your mouse (PC users) OR touch with your finger (tablet/phone users) OR click with your touchpad (the laptop mouse) on the web address which again is highlighted in orange underneath Mike’s signature, you will again be taken to the TapIT home page on the website (https://tapintoit.org.uk/).
All you then do is add whatever text you want to add to the email and press send!
To summarise, in our newsletters any images or orange text, is an indicator that you can click on them (PC users) OR touch with your finger (tablet/phone users) OR click with your touchpad (the laptop mouse) and you will be taken to a website for further information, or it will enable you to quickly send an email, if you so wish. I hope that helps!
