Community Heroes!

We’re privileged at Tap into IT to have an amazing team who are involved in connecting people with others and building a real sense of community. This has been especially important during the Pandemic when so many older people especially would be even more isolated otherwise.

It was a real boost to be nominated by people in the community (-thank you, whoever you are!) for Ian Murray’s Community Heroes Award. It’s always a pleasure to meet up with Ian whose support means such a lot as an MP who really listens to the needs of his constituents and gets things done.

Here’s a wee representative group receiving the award from Ian yesterday (Fri 3rd Dec) including 3 members of Tap into IT who join in our regular online chat & informal tech help/tuition sessions, 2 of our Board members (Bridget Stevens, our incredibly hard-working Chairperson and Lorence Fizia), 2 staff members (Milo van Mesdag and Mike Ellis who is also Exec Director). Another staff member, Lesley Scarles, dodged the photo by offering to take it!

We’re very grateful to the Eric Liddell Centre who we’ve been working with in support of Carers, who gave us the use of their Cafe Annex for the occasion.
