Daniel Vasile, Volunteer

Daniel Vasile

A ‘Farewell’ to Daniel (Volunteer)

Daniel has had to stop volunteering with us mid March due to other commitments.

He’s been with us since September 2020 and has taken every opportunity since then to help out in whatever way he can.

Mostly, that has been in the online groups of course, along with Milo in a group that met on Wednesday afternoons then most recently helping Lorence to host the Tuesday morning group with Carole, James, Archie and John.

He was adept at finding interesting links relating to the conversation and screen sharing these.

He has attended most of our inter-group events (-Christmas parties, Pancake Day, Generation Game) and gave a really interesting and informative talk at one of them on his country, Romania and followed it up with some great links.

His contribution to our series of online group chats on ‘Loneliness‘ was really helpful too – and made me think how hard lockdown was too for people in situations like Daniel, away from their family and familiar surroundings.

He said that volunteering and the weekly chats really helped.

He also says “The time I spent as a volunteer was one of the best times for me. I’ve learned a lot from everyone and I enjoyed every moment spent in the meetings. Thank you for the opportunity, and best wishes to you and the other members going forward.”

Thank you Daniel, we’ll miss you, keep in touch!
